Statement
My pieces are generally small in scale;
ranging from a single drawing on paper to tens of uniform drawings per piece;
installed at varying heights, often in grid-like, quilted rows- these similar
fragments hang side by side or rest in layered stacks.
Materials consist primarily of found
objects- often metal boxes paired with hand sewn paper and fabric drawings. My
work, in part is a symbol of the relationship between internal and external
elements- from that which is contained to that which contains.
Much of my work includes text that
varies in legibility; it surfaces and recedes as a voice might, revealing the
known and the almost-known, the suppression and recollection of memory, the
spoken and the silenced.
